The role of this position is to provide technical sales support to prospective customers of North West Explorations The support will be in the form of specific technical knowledge of rigging materials to ensure that our customers are receiving the correct product and or services to resolve their need. The technical knowledge of this position will be used to guide our customers in the application of the products that the company represents. Our technical sales specialist will work with all the staff of the company, to continually improve their offerings in order to improve the customer experience as delivered by NWEX.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Support

·        Customer point of contact for all rigging needs

·        Strong focus on yacht rigging inquiries with the ability to tailor packages and service to our customers

·        Identify potential customers needs and specify appropriate goods and services that meets the requirement

·        Provide technical design and product recommendation on rigging requirements

·        Provide technical design and product recommendations on system requirements

·        Create cost budgets for the supply and installation of specified equipment

·        Create and promote technical training courses, both class room and onboard.

Administrative Support

·        Create and manage sales contracts

·        Ensure that monies owed on work performed or goods supplies is collected

·        Respond to the ownership on budgetary planning

·        Respond to ownership on results vs budget performance

·        Learn and work with the software suite that the company is using

·        Maintain supplier relationships

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS

• Ability to multi-task and maintain flexibility in dynamic atmosphere
• Ability to stay focused and prioritize in fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively communicate on phone and email with clients, co-workers and suppliers in multiple languages
• Ability to focus on details and maintain accuracy
• Comfortable working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams Booking Manager, Team Marine, Sales Force and InDesign
• Professional, upbeat, friendly personality

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Exceptional knowledge of sailboats
• University under graduate degree preferred
• Knowledge of coastal cruising as well as offshore sailing
• Boat handling skills
• Multiple language capability
• Technical instructional skills
• Works exceptionally well with others
• 10 years’ experience in the sailing yacht industry
• Capable of world wide travel

Service Devision

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum

Full-time salary

Travel required: Boat Shows and Trade Shows during the fall. Winter and spring seasons of each year.
