Donald Cooper

Donald Cooper transforms businesses...and business people! He has helped thousands of companies throughout the world add more real value to their customers’ lives...and more dollars to their bottom lines!

Donald started his business career at the age of 6, sweeping the floor in the family business for 5 cents a day. Long days and low pay...excellent early training for an entrepreneur!

He earned an MBA at the Ivey Biz School in London, Ontario back when dinosaurs roamed the earth...followed by 18 years at Cooper Canada, the family business. From humble beginnings, with just 11 employees, Cooper Canada became the world's leading maker of ice hockey equipment and a Canadian Brand icon, with over 2,500 employees. If you grew up playing sports in Canada, you may have had Donald’s last name on some part of your body!

Cooper Canada manufactured in two Canadian factories and operated an offshore factory in Barbados for 13 years. The company exported to 24 countries, survived being unionized, sourced product overseas, bought competitors, became a publicly traded company, dealt with partnership and family issues and, finally, sold out for a number of strategic and family reasons.

Greg Loerts

Greg is a consultant with Bluesky Strategy Group, a communications and government relations firm in Ottawa. He joined Bluesky after over three years working on Parliament Hill with the Conservative Party of Canada, most recently serving as a policy advisor.

In that role, Greg led policy files including Natural Resources, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, and Rural Economic Development and Rural Broadband, and was heavily involved in the Natural Resources and the Indigenous and Northern Affairs committees. Greg provided policy advice and briefings on a range of topics, including Indigenous economic reconciliation, criminal reform, firearms legislation, rural broadband development, energy security, and the responsible development of Canadian natural resources, encompassing mining, oil and gas, forestry, and renewables.
