Boating BC Association is seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and experienced professional to join our team in a dynamic sales and event leadership role. We are looking for someone who is passionate about boating, events, relationship-building, and delivering exceptional experiences.

Boating BC produces the Vancouver International Boat Show, Western Canada’s largest boat show, along with a newly developed Fall In-Water Boat Show. Position Overview
This role is responsible for supporting the planning, sales, organization, revenue growth, and execution of the Vancouver International Boat Show and Fall In-Water Boat Show, while also contributing to Boating BC membership sales and industry engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Event & Show Management
* Collaborate with a high-performing team to support the planning and execution of the Vancouver International Boat Show and Fall In-Water Boat Show
* Assist with budget development, revenue management, and overall show performance
* Lead exhibit space sales across bulk and booth categories
* Develop and implement sales strategies to grow exhibitor participation and revenue
* Build and maintain strong relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, and industry partners
* Manage exhibitor communications, space allocation, and conflict resolution when required
* Identify sponsorship and additional revenue opportunities
* Contribute to the development and execution of marketing and business plans for the shows
* Work closely with the Executive Director, suppliers, venues, and marketing partners
* Provide support for exhibitors and attendees using the show’s digital event platform
* Collaborate with industry groups and associations to support and grow recreational boating in British Columbia
* Support administrative and event logistics as required

Membership Sales & Industry Support
* Identify and develop new membership prospects for Boating BC
* Promote and sell memberships through direct outreach and industry networking opportunities
* Assist in identifying and promoting member revenue opportunities, including digital advertising and sponsorship initiatives

Qualifications & Experience
* Post-secondary education preferred
* Minimum 5–8 years of experience in sales, event management, or a related field
* Passion for boating, marine, outdoor lifestyle, or events is considered a strong asset
* CRM experience is an asset
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

* Some travel within British Columbia may be required

Additional Information
Workload will vary throughout the year depending on event schedules and peak show seasons. During non-peak periods, the role will focus more heavily on membership sales and industry support.

This position may be structured as either:
* A full-time employment position, or
* An annual contract opportunity for an independent contractor

The successful candidate may work remotely from a home office, with access to Boating BC office space located in Richmond, BC.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Boating BC.
