Canada 150 Original Wooden Dragon Boat Festival

The Canada 150 Original Wooden Dragon Boat Festival is a new event to be held July 15 to 16, 2017 on Shuswap Lake at Canoe Beach. This Heritage Canada 150 event in partnership with Paddle Row Shuswap and Aspiral Youth Partners will offer opportunities for multi-cultural participation and celebrate the historic significance of dragon boating in Canada and the complete restoration of the nine original Hong Kong wooden dragon boats. First Nations, Hong Kong and Taiwanese wooden boats will be celebrated during a family oriented festival offering ethnically themed foods, cultural entertainment, fine art and children’s programming together with exciting wooden boat races on the shores of Shuswap Lake in Canoe BC.
