•  You must either have 1 year working experience, 
•  graduated from a marine or boat building school school, 
•  or currently be enrolled in one of the two programs.

Job description:

A Marine Service Technician is a person who troubleshoots and carries out repairs of a structural and/or cosmetic nature in wood, composite, fiberglass, or metal; on motor and sail vessels up to 150 feet in length, including modifications, refitting and upgrading.

•  Sand, scrape, clean and prepare all wood, fiberglass and metal parts on all assigned marine vessels.
•  Removal and installation of parts.
•  Removal of anti-foul and application of anti-foul.
•  Clean, polish, and refinish marine vessels.
•  Repair of marine fiberglass.
•  Application of epoxy, two part paints, and varnishes.
•  Design, cut and install marine fenestration.
•  Repair and refit keel and rudder.

Special working conditions:

•  We work outside in the elements.
•  You must be prepared to work in the hot, cold, rain and wind.
•  We will supply mask filters, work suits, and sport drinks as needed.

Requirements:

•  At least 18 years old, CPR / First Aid
•  Fiberglass repair experience
•  Knowledge of resins, gelcoats and gelcoat repairs. Non-skid surfaces.
•  Fin and keel structural repairs experience.
•  Window designs, cut, and install experience.
•  Osmosis and blistering experience.
•  Wood structure and uses in boats. Wood decay and deterioration in wood boats. Wood repairs and fairing experience.
•  Paints and varnishes. Antifoul coatings. Waterline and hull stripes experience.
•  Hand tools. Portable tools. Stationary power tools. Spray equipment. Fasteners. Abrasives experience.
•  Marine trade math basics.
•  Boat yard safety.
•  Driver’s license with a clean record.
•  You need to have a 3m half-mask and steel toed shoes
